WE LOVE PLYMOUTH

Plymouth is our local city, but we match people to spaces across the south west for all types of creative, start-ups, community groups organisations, types of use and more.

We specialise in short term and meanwhile uses for spaces. We believe in the re-invention of the High Street as a space for all manner of uses, including cultural events and community uses.

Through funded programmes, we can help facilitate your ideas in spaces on the High Street.

HOW DID IT START?

Vacancy Atlas started with a conversation around the lack of access to spaces in the city for start ups, community groups and organisations wanting to develop ideas, find space to meet or work in a creative environment.

Space users wanted more information on the spaces available and how to access them. Communities were looking to understand spaces available in the community and find a greater reach and audience for their existing spaces. Space owners were looking for alternative and additional ways for individuals and organisations to access their spaces.

A key driver for us was finding an alternative solution to testing ideas and occupying spaces, without requiring a substantial financial commitment or the burden of a long term lease.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

We are a social enterprise taking a radical new approach to utilising spaces in the city. We work with space owners and users to find alternative uses for existing spaces, whilst actively perusing the spaces required within the city.

We are architects and designers, so we understand space and how to effectively utilise it. We can help you visualise your ideas, find spaces and help with occupying them.
